DESCRIPTION:The two webinar sessions being offered in this Highway Plan Reading Course are designed for participants who seek a basic understanding of how to read and understand both construction\nand right of way plans. \nPart I will cover: Construction Plans\, Title Sheet\, Typical Sections\, General Notes\, Plan and\nProfile Sheets\, and Cross Sections.\nPart II will cover: Right of Way Plans\, Legend Sheet\, Property Map\, Summary of Additional\nRight of Way\, and Detail Right of Way Plan Sheets. \nThe instructor will be Brett Shearer of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT)’s Office of\nReal Estate. \nParticipants completing both sessions will be provided credit for the Real Estate Academy Highway Plan Reading course. SUMMARY:Roundabouts Update Webinar
DESCRIPTION:If there were 32 chances for your family member to make a deadly mistake and you were able lower that number to only 8 chances\, why wouldn’t you? Roundabouts\, as many of us already know\, convert a traditional intersection with 32 conflict points into an intersection with only 8 conflict points. (And the 8 conflicts points are generally at MUCH lower speeds.) It is because of this type of safety benefit that many communities in Ohio and around the world are looking to Roundabouts as a key way to improve roadway safety at intersections. \nOhio’s Roundabouts have grown in number and type over recent years and presenter Hillary Isebrands has helped this growth by training many through the National Highway Institute “Modern Roundabouts: Intersections Designed for Safety” course. During this webinar\, Engineer Isebrands will provide an update on recent developments and the current state-of-practice for Roundabouts. Early registration is encouraged\, as there is no charge for this webinar and due to the popularity of this topic\, registration may fill to capacity.
