SUMMARY:Traffic Signal Timing & Analysis
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is for anyone who is involved in the design of traffic signals and is looking for hands on instruction for developing traffic signal timing directives. The class will enable participants to 1) successfully review whether a traffic signal is warranted\, 2) learn about the analyses that go into installation of a traffic signal (including crash analysis and Highway Safety Manual procedures)\, and 3) develop traffic signal timing directives for various scenarios from simple to complex intersections\, including railroad preemption. This two-day class will cover: \n\nInvestigation/Data Collection\nWarrant Analysis\nHCS/Synchro Analysis (high level overview)\nHighway Safety Manual\nCrash Analysis\nTraffic Signal Timing Basics\nTraffic Signal Phasing\nTraffic Signal Operation\nDeveloping a Traffic Signal Timing – Step-by-Step

SUMMARY:Chainsaw Safety Training
DESCRIPTION:Chainsaws are widely used throughout the world.  They’re used in wide variety of industries such as commercial\, residential\, arborist\, road maintenance\, property maintenance\, ground operations\, and bucket truck operations.  Chainsaws can be very useful\, but it important to remember they can also be very dangerous.  Every year\, numerous chainsaw operators and bystanders are seriously injured and killed due to chainsaw accidents.  A large majority of these statistics could have been prevented by learning and practicing proper chainsaw safety.  During this presentation\, we will discuss chainsaw maintenance procedures\, how to select and properly use personal protective equipment\, and how to safely operate the chainsaw to reduce the risk of injury. \nRegister at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/safety-training-tickets-106389182910

SUMMARY:ADA in Temporary Traffic Control Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION:Roadway construction and maintenance activities can temporarily close sidewalks and crosswalks. Similarly\, utility work\, sidewalk repairs\, building construction and other activities also affect sidewalks and crosswalks. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Public Rights-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG) state that when a pedestrian circulation path is temporarily closed\, an alternate pedestrian access route complying with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) shall be provided. Requirements for pedestrian access will be reviewed in this session. Tools to minimize the impacts of construction\, maintenance and utility operations on pedestrians will be discussed\, including: phasing of construction\, channelizing devices\, detectable edging\, temporary curb ramps and effective signing/communication. \nWednesday\, June 17\, 2020\n10:00 AM to 11:00 AM EDT\nRegistration:\nhttps://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/2200770786588642575 \nThursday\, June 18\, 2020\n10:00 AM to 11:00 AM EDT\nRegistration:\nhttps://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/5459472562665768975
