SUMMARY:Traffic Signal Design and Operation Webinar
DESCRIPTION: \nThere is a need to understand that the congestion and delays that exist on our streets and roadways can be better managed with a thorough understanding of effective traffic signal timing and optimization. Well-developed\, designed\, implemented\, maintained\, and operated traffic signal control projects are essential to this process. Engineering tools are available to design\, optimize\, analyze\, and simulate traffic flow. This course addresses the application of the “Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices” (MUTCD) to intersection displays\, as well as signal timing\, computerized traffic signal systems\, control strategies\, integrated systems\, traffic control simulation\, and optimization software. The course is divided into two primary parts: Traffic Signal Timing and Design\, and Traffic Signal Systems. \nThe Webinar is targeted to Traffic engineering personnel from State\, Federal\, and local agencies involved in planning\, design\, operation or maintenance of traffic signals or traffic signal systems. The course will not assume any prior knowledge of computers and thus will describe the theory of operation and the manner in which it can be applied to traffic signal controls. \nWhen you complete the course\, you will be able to: \n\nList the steps required to plan\, design\, and implement a signalized intersection\nDevise an appropriate data collection plan for planning\, designing\, and operating a signalized intersection\nPerform a warrant analysis using the MUTCD warrants\, including local policies\nDesign basic phasing of the intersection – which movements will get a separate phase\, and how they are numbered\nCalculate signal timing at the design stage for both actuated and coordinated operational strategies\, including pedestrian clearance intervals\nDetermine location of signal displays\nSelect signal-related signs and pavement markings\, including turning-movement signs and advance warning signs\n\nRegistration:https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=wF36DW8DFUaZ5JSvgi8rhM2DKVY1dbtIqCvlfncowdhUNjNLS1pJVUtFMzhSUEdDM0ZSODFYNERTQS4u \n

SUMMARY:Creative Leadership: Building a Culture of Innovation
DESCRIPTION:Innovation and creativity are absolutely necessary to thrive in business\, hiring\, motivating\, marketing\, parenting\, educating\, coaching… Are you and your organization becoming more – or less – creative? Jonathan’s TED Talk on this topic won the best speaker of the conference. Participants will learn 5 core strategies to build a culture of creativity. Lessons and memorable anecdotes come from some of the most creative people and organizations in history\, as well as Jonathan’s personal experience implementing these lessons as an entrepreneur\, parent\, educator\, and with clients large and small. What Jonathan calls the “innovator’s equation” has been a game-changer for leaders across the country. This was a favorite for a global entrepreneurship summit in Sydney\, Australia. \nLearning Objectives:\n1. How can you intentionally foster the traits of the world’s most creative people?\n2. What questions\, stories\, and models will get you and your team “unstuck”?\n3. What is the “Innovator’s Equation”? – Jeff Hyatt (Hyatt Hotels) called this the greatest leadership lesson of the decade. \n  \nRegister here! \n
