SUMMARY:Pavement Preservation
DESCRIPTION:The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) supports and promotes the use of recycled materials in pavement construction in an effort to preserve the natural environment\, reduce waste\, and provide a cost effective material for constructing highways. Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) occurs when asphalt is removed during reconstruction and resurfacing and then is transported to facility for processing and reuse.
