SUMMARY:Creative Leadership: Building a Culture of Innovation
DESCRIPTION:Innovation and creativity are absolutely necessary to thrive in business\, hiring\, motivating\, marketing\, parenting\, educating\, coaching… Are you and your organization becoming more – or less – creative? Jonathan’s TED Talk on this topic won the best speaker of the conference. Participants will learn 5 core strategies to build a culture of creativity. Lessons and memorable anecdotes come from some of the most creative people and organizations in history\, as well as Jonathan’s personal experience implementing these lessons as an entrepreneur\, parent\, educator\, and with clients large and small. What Jonathan calls the “innovator’s equation” has been a game-changer for leaders across the country. This was a favorite for a global entrepreneurship summit in Sydney\, Australia. \nLearning Objectives:\n1. How can you intentionally foster the traits of the world’s most creative people?\n2. What questions\, stories\, and models will get you and your team “unstuck”?\n3. What is the “Innovator’s Equation”? – Jeff Hyatt (Hyatt Hotels) called this the greatest leadership lesson of the decade. \n  \nRegister here!

SUMMARY:Federal Highway Administration’s Every Day Counts Executive Session
DESCRIPTION:The Every Day Counts (EDC) program has changed the way we engage people\, products and processes. For nearly 10 years\, FHWA has worked with our stakeholders and partners to achieve tangible successes for the highway community\, and the Americans who travel our roads every day.  If you’re already familiar with EDC innovations\, then you know that real game changers come from this program.  For example\, in EDC 3-4\, the deployment of e-Construction helped lead to savings on average of $40\,000 per project and 1.78 hours of staff time per day.  Currently\, 46 states are using e-Construction and enjoying these benefits as a result.  And that is just one example. \nOn September 23rd at 2:30 pm EDT\, FHWA will be hosting a virtual meeting to provide an introduction to the EDC-6 initiatives.  All FHWA staff are welcome to participate in this event\, and we encourage you to share this invitation with your STIC members\, transportation partners\, and stakeholders.  Additional information and factsheets on these initiatives can be found on the EDC web site. \nRegister here!

SUMMARY:High Friction Surface Treatment (HFST)
DESCRIPTION:The Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) is a core federal aid program that utilizes a data driven process to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes on all roads across the county. Kentucky’s HSIP program utilizes data to analyze Kentucky’s roadway network for crash locations that experience more wet pavement collisions than similar roadways across the state. High Friction Surface projects are then created for these identified locations across the state. Some Local roads are included in this analysis. In 2019\, a local road received high friction surface through the HSIP program. This webinar includes an overview of the HFST program and project details from Daviess County. \nRegister at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hfsthsip-tickets-106394484768
