This course on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is part of the curriculum for ODOT’s Traffic Academy, as administered by  the Office of Roadway Engineering and Office of Traffic Operations. It is intended to improve plan content, organization, and provide information on functionality of ITS devices.

Successful completion of this ITS Traffic Academy course is a consultant prequalification requirement under the category of ITS Design and Operations. If an individual is currently ODOT prequalified for ITS Design, it is not a requirement to take this new course to maintain prequalification. The Department does feel that consultants and project design would benefit from taking this course every five years as standards and content change.

This course is intended for individuals who have the Traffic Signal Design prequalification and are seeking the ITS Design prequalification.\
