The Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) is a core federal aid program that utilizes a data driven process to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes on all roads across the county. Kentucky’s HSIP program utilizes data to analyze Kentucky’s roadway network for crash locations that experience more wet pavement collisions than similar roadways across the state. High Friction Surface projects are then created for these identified locations across the state. Some Local roads are included in this analysis. In 2019, a local road received high friction surface through the HSIP program. This webinar includes an overview of the HFST program and project details from Daviess County.
