Traffic Engineering Fundamentals

April 14, 2020 @ 10:00 am - April 16, 2020 @ 12:00 pm EDT

In the Traffic Engineering Fundamentals 3-Part Webinar Series we will be looking at the following topics:

  • Traffic data and traffic studies – What kind of data do you need to collect and what do you do with it once you have it?
  • Traffic design considerations for various types of roadways – Why do our roadways and intersections look the way they do and what are some of the options that are out there?
  • Traffic operational considerations – Once you have designed it and built it, how do you make it all work well?

This training is a high-level overview of the real basic concepts of traffic engineering and is thus ideal for people that are just starting to work in the field, or for people that maybe work in related fields that want to learn the lingo of traffic engineering. One of the things that we aim to accomplish in the workshop is to introduce the various topics and point attendees towards resources where they can learn more if they are interested in additional information.

  • Session 1 – Traffic Data and Studies (4/14/2020, 10am-12pm)
  • Session 2 – Traffic Design (4/15/2020, 10am-12pm)
  • Session 3 – Traffic Operations (4/16/2020, 10am-12pm)

You are welcome to register for one, two, or all three sessions. Each individual webinar session will award 2.0 PDHs. Up to 6.0 PDHs can be earned for attending and completing all three sessions.
