Why Attend?

The National LTAP/TTAP Association Annual Conference offers targeted professional development through sessions designed for all center roles—including trainers, safety circuit riders, administrators, and leadership staff—helping strengthen skills across the entire organization. Centers also gain direct access to national expertise, shared training resources, and innovative practices through the broader NLTAPA network, which represents LTAP and TTAP centers across the country.   In fact, attendance at the conference, which is mentioned in the NLTAPA strategic plan, is considered a vital experience for LTAP and TTAP staff.

The annual conference provides valuable opportunities to network in-person with peers, share experiences, and build relationships that support ongoing collaboration and problem-solving. In addition, centers are exposed to emerging technologies and innovative implementation strategies helping them stay current with industry trends and enhance the services they offer locally. By participating, centers also have a voice in shaping national priorities, contributing to strategic partnerships and training-resource development guided by NLTAPA and its workgroups. Engagement with vendors and sponsors further provides access to new training tools, safety products, and technology solutions that can strengthen center programming and support local agencies more effectively. Collectively, these benefits help individual centers expand their capacity, enhance their technical offerings, and improve their ability to meet the evolving needs of the transportation workforce.

The National Local Technical Assistance Program Association (NLTAPA) represents transportation centers from every part of the country, including 51 LTAPs and 7 TTAPs. Last year, NLTAPA gave over 35,800 hours of training to more than 155,600 participants. The impact of working with NLTAPA has far reaching effects on a variety of audiences. Our attendees include trainers, safety circuit riders, center administrative and leadership staff, and a variety of transportation professionals and champions. Our users include engineers, heavy equipment operators, planners, managers, officials, and more.
